On behalf of the entire BSIA community, we want to thank Roy Norton for his significant service to the School as our very first Diplomat-in-Residence. Roy held this role for 18 months, beginning in January 2019, after finishing his term as the Chief of Protocol at Global Affairs Canada. During this time, he held a full-time office at the School, shared with his wise associate, Rufus. The BSIA community benefitted enormously from his in-depth knowledge and experience in both developing and executing Canadian public policy and foreign relations. We are grateful for the significant contribution he made to our students through many hours of career advice and lectures, as well as his efforts to facilitate a much stronger and productive relationship between the School and Ottawa.
We are delighted that Roy has accepted our invitation to continue his affiliation with the School in the capacity of BSIA Fellow. Roy will continue to have a shared office at the School several days a week, and he will remain active in the daily life of the School moving forward.
